Croatia Held to Stunning Draw by Albania
Albania clinched a dramatic equalizer against favored Croatia in the dying moments of their Group E match.
Despite a spirited performance, Croatia saw their hopes of securing a spot in the knock-out stages take a major blow after conceding a late goal to Albania. The 2018 World Cup finalists had twice taken the lead, but the Albanians refused to be disheartened.
The match was a tale of two halves. Croatia dominated the first, creating numerous chances but failing to convert. However, Albania came out with a renewed sense of purpose after the break and began to cause problems for the Croatian defense.
