Manchester City eyeing Donnarumma as Ederson's replacement

Premier League champions interested in PSG goalkeeper

City looking to replace 30-year-old Ederson

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as they look to replace 30-year-old Brazil international Ederson.

Donnarumma, 25, has been one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in Europe since breaking into the AC Milan first team as a teenager.

He joined PSG on a free transfer last summer but has struggled to dislodge Keylor Navas as the club's number one goalkeeper.

City are said to be impressed with Donnarumma's performances for Italy at Euro 2020 and believe he could be the ideal long-term replacement for Ederson.

Ederson has been City's first-choice goalkeeper since joining the club from Benfica in 2017 and has helped them win three Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and an FA Cup.

However, he has been linked with a move away from City in recent months, with Bayern Munich and Juventus both said to be interested in signing him.

If City do sign Donnarumma, it would be a major coup for the club and would send a clear message that they are determined to remain one of the top teams in Europe.
