Get Ready For What 2024 Brings

Spaghetti Models Show Invest 97L on the Move

Hurricane season is just around the corner, and the National Weather Service has just released the outlook for the 2024 season. The season will officially begin on June 1st and end on November 30th.

The NWS is expecting an above-average season this year, with 14 to 20 named storms, 6 to 10 hurricanes, and 3 to 6 major hurricanes. This is due to a number of factors, including warmer-than-normal temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean.

One of the biggest threats to the United States this hurricane season is Invest 97L, a tropical disturbance that is currently located in the Atlantic Ocean. The NHC has given Invest 97L a high chance of further development, and some spaghetti models now show the storm moving into the Gulf of Mexico.

If Invest 97L does develop into a hurricane, it could be a major threat to the Gulf Coast. The storm is expected to strengthen as it moves into the warm waters of the Gulf, and it could make landfall anywhere from Texas to Florida.

It's important to be prepared for hurricane season, no matter where you live. Make sure you have a plan in place, and that you have an emergency kit ready to go. You can find more information on hurricane preparedness at the NWS website.
